Luckily for those who work with family, you not only see your loved ones more often but you will interact with each other on a regular basis and develop a more fulfilling relationship.

    3) Family memories.

    When you work with family members you are building special memories with them. In addition to creating memories during the holidays and trips to the zoo, your family business can become one of the best memories you will have. You can remember how grandpa used to smell like woodchips after working the lathe in his woodshop. You can remember making delicious foods with your aunt at the bakery. These are joys that stay with you forever. It’s an essential part of life to enjoy being around those you care for. Working with family gives you more time with those who are important to you.

    So even though you may not see eye to eye with uncle Bob on which napkins to carry for the pizzeria, you have to remember to appreciate the time you share with him. Having your children grow up around family members when they stop by the hardware store after school is priceless. You teach love, life and business all at one time.     2) Pride is another perk that develops when you are working for yourself. You can take pride in working hard to create a business that flourishes. A business that provides for you and your family will bring you great joy. You will also be proud that you have accomplished what many others are unable to do. You can take control of your financial future with YOUR business as the foundation.

    3) Flexibility is another great perk when you work for yourself. You are your own boss and that means YOU control your schedule. You work when you need to and you take time off when you want to.     Most of us have had at least one job that made us feel like prisoners. You show up for your eight-hour day, sometimes more if there is forced over time. You sit at your desk, confined by a tiny office or cubicle. You feel like a caged bird. It gets harder and harder to get up and drag yourself into work each day. If this sounds familiar there is a way out. The key to freedom is running your own home business. It opens up those walls to allow you to stretch your wings.

    Give yourself freedom to be your own boss. You set the pace, the hours and the pay. You don’t have to worry about the work warden coming around and shouting work harder, faster, longer hours. Free yourself! You are the one who should set the pace and the standard. You are the one who guides your life.

    Give yourself the freedom to set your own hours. The sun is out and you have an itch to get out your tackle box and fishing pole. Maybe your sister is in town for two days and you haven’t seen her for two years. Usually you are forced to ask your boss for time off. You are often denied and spend your workday gritting your teeth to get through. If you are your own boss and you set your hours, you also giver yourself much needed and well deserved time off. No filling out a form and waiting to see if it can be approved. Taking some time to do what is fun in life makes you a better worker. We are not robots and we do need down time to refresh our spirits.

    Free yourself to care for family or friends. If you are a parent you’ve surely had a phone call from the school saying that little Johnny or Jill is ill and needs to be picked up. Once again you have to stare into your bosses eyes and ask if you can leave early to care for your little one. Most of the time you get a lecture on priorities and how important it is for every employee to be at work. You understand and don’t need a talking to. You need to go care for your child. If you have an ill friend or parent you get the same ordeal. No one needs this unwanted stress. By running your own business you are free to care for those who need you so much more than a company where you are just a number.

    Just think you can wake up everyday to a job that is in your hands. You control what you do and when you do it. That’s the real freedom from running your own business. Don’t let yourself be caged by a mundane job. Don’t wait to get started, free yourself with your own business.

    5. Plan your strategies - it is essential that you plan your tasks properly to achieve your goals and meet client requirements. It is recommended for you to create a step by step plan for you to meet these requirements.

    6. Network- this term says it all, it is important to establish connections that will make your business become known to the community. Networking is one of the key ingredients that will contribute to the success of the home business.

    7. Create an image of professionalism - for you to be treated as a professional; you must first create a professional image for your business. This means that you need to set-up a business bank account, a new phone line, and a fax line. You also need to be courteous and sound professional to all your clients.

    8. Automate routine tasks as much as you can - when a business is just starting out, business owners usually have a lot of time to take care of all the details of their businesses. This is probably the reason why they do not think of automation at the start of their operations.
